Lostmitten.org has been officially launched! My brand new website - featuring a brand new blog about my own handmade crafts plus the work of others!
I'd really appreciate it if you'd take the time to check out my new site as well as the blog... if you're interested, be sure to bookmark the blog since chances are I will be writing there a little more than here (I'll still do my best to write at this blog as well).
I will be launching a shop there, separate from my Etsy shop, but that is not fully functional yet, "coming soon".
Hello! Just wanted to share my newest creations that I've listed in my Etsy shop today (Wednesday October 3rd)!
The first is a Multicolored Crochet Scarf. It is made from 100% Merino Wool, and has shades of red, orange, green, and purple. It is perfect for the Fall, nice autumn colors! It will keep you nice and warm - this scarf is long enough to wrap around your neck a couple of times (86" in length!). It is fashionable and functional.
The scarf and the fingerless gloves are sold separately, but would also match as a set! I have many other knit items for sale in my Etsy Shop, since it's time to start thinking about bundling up and preparing for the winter weather that will soon be coming our way!
More DS Cases! Thanks to everyone for the great response on the first two cases that I made - they both sold, so I made some more! I made three cases:
A Blue-Green Case - with chocolate and turquoise polka dot fabric lining, and an Animal Crossing button on the front
A Chocolate Brown Case - with Kawaii pig fabric lining (fabric from Kyoto, Japan) and a super cute Relax Bear button on the front
A Striped Brown and White Case - with retro-styled autumn leaf fabric lining and a cute Orange Boy Kawaii button
So, I FINALLY managed to get a Ravelry invite! I'm not sure if I ended up getting to the top of the giant waiting list that I'd been on for the past few months, or if a kind person decided to invite me (if that is the case, thank you SO much!) but I am now on the site!! Hooray!
I can tell that this is going to take up a lot of my time...in the best way, of course! There are places to share projects, patterns, your wool stash...I can't wait to search through the site more! And I just got my wisdom teeth taken out, so I'll be at home over the next couple of days anyway (ugh...my cheeks look like a chipmunk right now, and I'm dying to eat something besides milkshakes, yogurt, or mashed potatoes that came from a box).
If you are a member of Ravelry, I'd love to be your friend on there, so be sure to add me! Just search the user name "lostmitten" and you'll find me! :)
I have made two so far for my Etsy Shop: a Pink DS Case with black and white lining, and a Blue-Green DS case with a flower lining.
The Blue-Green case has a pale blue zipper with a delicate flower lining - tiny flowers of pink, blue, yellow, and red with little green leaves.
The Pink case has a black zipper with a black and white pattern that also has flowers and leaves. The pink and black looks awesome together!
The entire pouch is made by hand - the lining and the zipper have been completely sewed by hand, as well as the knitting. Attached to the zipper are two pom-poms. Also, a 1" pinback Nintendo button has been attached to the front of the pouch as well, to showcase your love for playing games on your DS!
Just a special thank you to the positive comments I received for my One Year Anniversary of first opening my Etsy Shop, Lost Mitten! Thanks to everyone for your positive words and to all of you who participated in my first ever sale! I never anticipated that the sale would have been so popular...I certainly have my work cut out for me over the next couple of days with regards to packing everything up and shipping everything out! Those at the post office are sure going to love me...I will have to take a few trips so I don't overwhelm them :)
I also checked EtsyTools.com - a great site for tracking information on Etsy sales and site statistics - to find that I am on the top 20 most popular sellers list over the past 24 hours on Etsy! Woo! :) I also love their new "Local Sellers" feature, it's definitely worth checking out.
Thanks everyone again!! Stay tuned for next year when I'll likely have a similar sale on my 2-Year Etsyversary ;)

In their last podcast, Radio Ninty 8, Stu went to the Leipzig GDC and gives us all of the latest news & the goods about what happened at the convention. In the latest podcast, Radio Ninty 9, there are plenty of news and reviews of the latest games coming out, including Kirby's Airride and Tiger Woods DS '08.
There's also a forum for fellow gamers to discuss the podcasts, anything Nintendo, and pretty much anything else you've got on your mind.
Everyone should definitely check out the podcast and the site! I've also teamed up with Radio Ninty, so if you purchase anything from my Etsy shop and mention Radio Ninty, I'll send you a set of special customized Radio Ninty pinback buttons :) They're pretty sweet!
We went to the Toronto ComiCon yesterday (or the "Fan Expo" as it is now called) and had a blast! I bought so many fun things...way too much to list! I went with my fiance, Paul, and our friends Kris and Pipo. Thought I'd share some of the pics with you guys of some highlights of the day!
Kris and I on the G4 Tech TV bus, watching some people play Guitar Hero and just chillin' on couches and bean bag chairs.
Paul and Kris, also chillin' in the G4 bus.
Me with an awesome person dressed up as a Bomberman (love the games!) Love the pink gloves and shoes. :)
DOMO-KUN! So cute!
Me and Midna from the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game...such a great costume!!
This is the greatest cake ever. I have yet to see it in person but I will in a couple of hours - my fiance sent a picture of it to me, as to what to expect once I get home (I'm at work right now).
This is actually a cake made to look like an original NES controller! It was baked for my fiance, Paul, by one of his (now former) co-workers as a going away present - it was his last day at work today. What a nice surprise...and the cake is chocolate, my fave!
I know that we are going to have to eventually eat the cake...although it is way too fun to eat! A very thoughtful gift considering the fact that Paul and I are such geeky gamers :)
