I modeled this box after the Mario Question Mark block ones that I've been creating for the past while. It measures approximately 3" across each side and it is 3-dimensional. It has a lid on the top that lifts off and the lid has two layers to allow it to fit snugly on top. The sides of the cube are all glued together with sturdy contact cement.
The Rubix Cube is "accurate" to the original - meaning that it is not only the correct colors, but the correct amount of each color :) This little keepsake box can be used to store just about anything, and would be a super cute addition to your desk or shelf!
We went to the Toronto ComiCon yesterday (or the "Fan Expo" as it is now called) and had a blast! I bought so many fun things...way too much to list! I went with my fiance, Paul, and our friends Kris and Pipo. Thought I'd share some of the pics with you guys of some highlights of the day!
Kris and I on the G4 Tech TV bus, watching some people play Guitar Hero and just chillin' on couches and bean bag chairs.
Paul and Kris, also chillin' in the G4 bus.
Me with an awesome person dressed up as a Bomberman (love the games!) Love the pink gloves and shoes. :)
DOMO-KUN! So cute!
Me and Midna from the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game...such a great costume!!
The first one that I made (to the left) is a card holder that looks like a Nintendo controller (for the Nintendo Entertainment System). I have great nostalgia for my original Nintendo and still play it on a regular basis.
The other cardholders that I've made so far are these ones that look like cassette tapes. They have glow in the dark beads in the middle so you'll be able to see them at night :)
All are up for sale in my Etsy Shop.
So, I got the idea...why not make a 3D decoration of the question mark blocks from the Mario games...that would be super fun & cute! Plus, I could hang them in my window and from the ceiling in our room for more 8-bit decorative fun! This way, it would be almost as though you could jump up and hit the block just like Mario does :)
I made a few of these for myself and my fiancé, and then started creating them for my Etsy shop where they are available for purchase. I also have a few other things up my sleeve for 3D Perler Bead art, so stay tuned! Thanks for looking!
